Pune – Chartered Accountant Bank Directors can play significant role in enhancing the image of cooperative banks stated CA Suresh Prabhu, Member of Rajya Sabha & Ex-Union Minister of Commerce and Industry during his visit to Cosmos Bank’s Head Office. He was addressing the concluding session of ‘Co-operative Bank’s Chartered Accountant Directors Meet’ arranged by The Cosmos Co-operative Bank Ltd.
He expressed that co-operative banks should be run professionally with focus on progress without compromising on asset quality, using best operating systems, aggressive marketing, trustworthy employees etc. While working in co-operative sector, serving and empowering the society should be the first priority rather than any personal goal. Earning profit along with qualitative development should be the vision, stated Prabhu.
He also stated that, for the overall growth, it is necessary to delegate responsibilities and power to right individuals in the organisation. Instead of spending time on things which are beyond control, it is important to focus on improving things which are in control. In these challenging times the role of co-operative banks is all the more substantial and they should adapt themselves according to the changing times said Prabhu.
The said ‘Meet’ was conducted under the guidance of CA Dr. S. B. Zaware. Chartered Accountant Directors of various co-operative banks were present for this ‘Meet’ arranged by Cosmos Bank. Experts in the field of co-operative sector shared their views and guided the participants. Cosmos Bank’s Chairman – CA Milind Kale, Directors, Managing Director- Suhas Gokhale were present on the occasion. CA Zaware explained the purpose of the ‘Meet’. Vote of thanks was proposed by Cosmos Bank’s Group Chairman, Dr. Mukund Abhyankar.
