If recent headlines have caught your eye, then you know that biodiversity is up against the most lethal threat globally. With Amazonia, the world’s largest rain forest, burning for days, we are at the brink of a devastating loss of biodiversity. It’s high time we realize the need for a flourishing ecosystem and Sony BBC Earth’s upcoming mega premiere, ‘Serengeti’ is an ode to the same. Shot across the lush grasslands of Africa, this pioneering series follows the interconnected stories of a cast of iconic savannah animals over one year and premieres on 9th September at 9 PM, only on Sony BBC Earth.
Narrated by award-winning British actor (of Star Wars fame) John Boyega, the series captures the high drama of the area’s distinctive wildlife up close. There’s love and loss, jealousy and rivalry, tragedy and triumph, as their lives entwine and dramatically unfold in the heart of this legendary land. With unique access to a pristine and untouched corner of the Serengeti, deep in the heart of Africa, the team captures the lonely lioness, exiled from the pride, the passionate baboon desperately trying to win back his lost love and the cheeky, fun-loving mongoose family on the lookout for a free lunch.
Using groundbreaking filming techniques and an original music score to put you at the heart of the action, Serengeti brings this incredible world of real-life animal drama to the screen in intimate and breathtaking detail. All 6 episodes, full of humor, heartbreak and nail-biting tension will premiere in India on Sony BBC Earth and will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Serengeti premieres on 9th September, Monday to Friday, at 9:00 pm, only on Sony BBC Earth
