AMBIKA LAL UNVEILED AN ECLECTIC COLLECTION AT THE STUDIO DURING LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2019.

Mumbai – Ambika Lal’s collection at The Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 was not only visually stunning but high octane in creativity.

Swirling Galaxies in the Milky Way were the inspiration as the designer showcased a range of ensembles that were splendid in their appearance.

Being highly influenced by the other realms of the universe, stunning components like the sun and moon motifs were used to create flamboyant garments, while the vast multitude of stars in dark skies were beautifully portrayed as embellishments.

The fascination that one has with moonless skies and a million twinkling stars, teamed with the grandeur of volcanic sunrises, brought together a fashion fantasy on the ramp.

Deriving a part of her muse from the Russian fashion, fabrics like mesh, satins and organzas, were seamlessly merged to create drama and oomph.

Keeping embellishments to a minimal, exaggerated ruffles, sensational trails and expressive hemlines, were brought together to speak for themselves.

Merging layering with corsets, the designer experimented with a range of cocktail dresses with beadwork and sequins embroidery that formed branch like patterns. From slits in the gown, to adding batman like look to the corset, each entry was a memorable one on the ramp.

For a show stopping entry it was the beautiful Rhea Chakraborty in a black, embellished corset with a sweetheart neckline and layered ruffled trail that stole the limelight.

When women want to experiment, or are bold enough to try something new and make a style statement of their own, Ambika Lal’s collection had it all.

SOUTACHE BY GAURIKA SHARMA BROUGHT DAZZELLING OPTIONS WITH HER COLLECTION “THE WAY WE WERE” AT THE STUDIO DURING LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK WINTER/FESTIVE 2019

With a collection that was all about style, glamour and ultra-elegance, ‘Soutache’ by Gaurika Sharma presented an eclectic look, “The Way We Were,” at The Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019.

Inspired by the Dutch impressionist painters of the 17th century, inimitable floral prints were fused, on vintage structured jackets, to create a visually stunning line of mixed bloom paintings for an illusionary experience.

Revering ‘Soutache’s’ style sensibilities, the designer remembered the line of vibrant shades with floral motifs, that were the focal point of the line. Giving a luxurious stamp to the ensembles, Gaurika Sharma took the audience on a fashionable journey to the early twentieth century.

Using embellishments lavishly, were a range of flowing pleated skirts juxtaposed with hand embroidery, while the printed stripes on shimmer silk, wool, linen and cashmere, made the silhouettes opulent. The exquisite long dresses, smocks, capes, wraps and saris, created a look that will set the mood for the coming season.

Himanshu Verma, popularly known as the sari man, strutted down the runway in a blac kurta teamed with an embellished dupatta draped like a sari and a golden blazer, that set a modern trend.

For those who long for New Age fashion that retains femininity but released spirit, “The Way We Were” by Gaurika Sharma for her ‘Soutache’ had it all.
