The Election Commission will announce this in a press conference at 3 pm. The tenure of the current Lok Sabha is ending on June 16 and before that the process of formation of the new government will have to be completed.

Elections were announced on March 10 in 2019
The last time the dates for Lok Sabha elections were announced was on March 10, 2019. At that time voting was held in seven phases in the country. The first round of voting took place on 11 April, while the seventh, i.e. the last round of voting took place on 19 May. The counting of votes took place on 23 May.
How were the results in 2019?
In the election results declared on 23 May 2019, BJP had got 303 seats. BJP was far ahead of the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha. With this victory, the party formed the government for the second consecutive time. The main opposition Congress had to be content with 52 seats. Whereas, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) had got 24 seats. YSRCP and TMC were successful in winning 22 seats each.
