Vishal Patil, who is the regional vice president of Congress, had to fight as an independent due to the politics of Mahavikas Aghadi in the Sangli Lok Sabha constituency, and he has won this battle. He was offered the Rajya Sabha seat before the elections, and even now he has given official support to the Congress to keep its promise to the electorate, even though it has a way to go with the NDA.

He met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi on Thursday and decided to stay with the Congress by remaining in the India Alliance, and handed over a letter of support to Kharge. Former minister Dr. Vishwajit Kadam was present with him on this occasion. Meanwhile, he also met Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
