Takli to Anawali Bypass Road in Ruin
Pandharpur, Navnath Khilare
Bypasses have been built around the city to reduce growing traffic congestion in various areas. However, the Takli to Anawali bypass road has now been left to “fate.”
Due to rainfall, the condition of the road has severely deteriorated. Large cracks have appeared at multiple spots, and numerous deep potholes have formed across the stretch. The entire road is in a pitiable state. No proper steps are being taken to repair it, causing major inconvenience to citizens. Thousands of people are suffering due to poor-quality construction work.
Thousands of vehicles, including two-wheelers, cars, and large vehicles, pass through the Takli bypass daily. Though potholes were filled in recent months, the road’s condition has worsened within a short period, leaving many surprised. The road has become a prime example of the administration’s lax approach, according to public discussions.
Road’s Condition Worse Across Most Sections
The slow pace of work, defects in the asphalt, and use of substandard materials, along with other lapses, have made this road a major problem for users. Numerous issues regarding the road’s surface have been raised, adding to the troubles faced by commuters.
The newly constructed flyover at the Takli railway crossing is also under scrutiny. The use of the wrong approach and the narrow road have increased the danger in this area.
Similarly, various problems on other nearby roads are forcing hundreds of drivers to face major difficulties.
Call for Officials to Ride on the Road
Due to poor workmanship and negligence in repairs, there is widespread anger among locals and commuters against the administration. The risk of accidents has doubled during the rainy season. This is particularly dangerous for two-wheeler riders. Citizens have demanded that officials demonstrate how they expect two-wheelers to safely navigate the Takli-Anawali bypass road.
Travelling at the Risk of Life
Commuters claim that there are thousands of potholes on the Takli-Anawali bypass, affecting both young and old alike. Loose gravel is scattered everywhere, making vehicles unstable and prone to skidding. This increases the chances of accidents, especially for two-wheeler riders. A collision from behind could result not just in injuries but in fatalities. People are forced to travel at the risk of their lives, yet no concrete action is being taken by the authorities to safeguard them.
