Hindi Language Controversy: Opposition to Hindi language is currently increasing in the state. The edge of politics has increased on this issue. The opposition is saying that Hindi compulsion is not needed. MNS chief Raj Thackeray and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray have announced different rallies. Meanwhile, today, Uddhav Thackeray and Marathi Language Study Center head Deepak Pawar held a press conference on this issue.
Deepak Pawar said, the office bearers of the School Education Study Action Committee met Uddhav Thackeray. Now we have organized a public meeting next Sunday (June 29). For this, we will also hold a sit-in protest on July 7. The protest will be held from Hutatma Smarak to Azad Maidan (Mumbai News).
Uddhav Thackeray said, we are not against Hindi language. But we are opposed to the compulsion of this language. Maharashtra itself truly worked to nurture the Hindi film industry. All the artists came to Mumbai and grew up here. Now the state government has started moving towards authoritarianism. There is a linguistic emergency, so we will definitely oppose it, Uddhav Thackeray said. Uddhav Thackeray appealed to those who are genuine Marathi lovers in the Bharatiya Janata Party to also participate in this movement.
