Tilak National Award Recognizes Nitin Gadkari’s Visionary Leadership: Ashokrao Tawre
Mumbai | Ramesh Autade
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has been announced as the recipient of the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak National Award, a recognition that reflects his visionary leadership and public-oriented contributions, said author Ashokrao Tawre, who penned the bilingual books “Vikasacha Rajmarg” and “Highway of Development.”
Tawre emphasized that through roads, highways, and infrastructure development, Gadkari is not only accelerating national progress but also instilling newfound confidence in a resurgent India. He described the honor as “truly inspiring,” particularly because it is being awarded to a personality known for long-term planning and execution. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received this award last year.
Nitin Gadkari’s journey from being a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Nagpur city president, to serving as a Member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council for 25 years, State Public Works Minister, Leader of the Opposition, Chairman of the Central Road Development Committee, BJP's State and National President, and finally a three-time Lok Sabha MP since 2014 has been marked by dedication and efficiency.
He has effectively managed several key ministries, including Road Transport and Highways, Water Resources, Shipping, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Ganga Rejuvenation, and Rural Development.
Iconic projects such as the Mumbai Pune Expressway and the construction of flyovers in Mumbai stand as testaments to his foresight. Gadkari's role in transforming India's infrastructure landscape, especially through the expansive national highway network, has been unparalleled.
Ashokrao Tawre concluded by stating that the Lokmanya Tilak National Award is a fitting acknowledgment of Nitin Gadkari’s vision, efficiency, and impact on modern India.
