Rachna Gupta wins Mrs Style Icon 2019 crown

“They say, if life throws lemons at you, take a jar and make lemonade. That’s been my philosophy of life!”, smiles 41 year old Rachna Gupta, who bagged the ‘Mrs Style Icon  2019’ title at the Mrs India – Empress of the Nation pageant, held last week at Hyatt Pune.

Married at a very young age of 18, and widowed at just 34, Rachna’s philosophy has made her brave all the odds and emerge a winner. Today, she successfully manages her two companies, Home Hue and Creative India, as an interior designer and home design consultant, and even runs a furnishing store. She is also a supplier of soft furnishings to various 5star hotels in Pune as well as other cities.

“I am a proud and happy single mother of two teenaged children, a son and daughter, 19 & 14. It’s been a tough battle, juggling between work, bringing up two young children and managing the home front single-handedly. But that in no way has caused me to slow down or dampen my enthusiasm for life and adventure. I love to follow my passion for travel, which has taken me to different parts of the country and also to many countries overseas. I love rally driving and trekking and also try to find time in celebrating with friends and family”, smiles Rachna.

“Taking part in the contest was a life-changing event. It transformed the way I look at myself. It was my mother and daughter who pushed me to participate. It was only when I set foot on the stage I realised the enormity of it.  The grooming that we received during the four days from Anjana and Karl Mascarenhas, owners of DIVA Pageants completely transformed each one of the 42 contestants. Anjana and Karl’s support, encouragement, and direction helped mould me and see my strengths and opportunities for growth from the outside. And they made me stronger and more confident. I now look forward to participating at an international platform”, she sums up.
