Maharashtra / Pandharpur : Pandharpur City Crime Investigation Branch launched a crackdown against the motorcycle stealing gang, arrested the accused and seized 64 motorcycles worth Rs.21,30,000/- from them.
In order to detect the crime of motorcycle theft in Pandharpur city within Pandharpur city police station limits, as per the suggestion of Vikram Kadam Sub Divisional Police Officer, Pandharpur Division, Pandharpur and under the guidance of Police Inspector of Pandharpur city police station Arun Pawar appointed three special teams of crime detection branch officials which are located in Pandharpur city and its surroundings. There is a high rate of motorcycle theft in the area.
After observing the scene of the incident and keeping a close eye on it, while the work of gathering information about the theft of motorbikes was going on through the confidential informant, a news was received from the informant that after getting information that a stolen motorbike could be sold at Pandharpur Takli Bypass,
The officials of the Crime Investigation Branch laid a trap at that place. When robbers were detained and brought to the police station for thorough interrogation, he said that he had bought a stolen motorcycle for sale & said that motorcycles were also stolen from Beed district. He would have captured the residence information of all these suspects and detained them and conducted a thorough investigation of the crime
Motorcycles have been seized by crime investigators, motorcycles confiscated in the above crime are Pandharpur city and surrounding areas as well as Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Pune, Ahmednagar, Beed districts.
