Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 hits eastern part of Kabul
The National Seismological Center (NCS) announced that a 4.3 magnitude earthquake shook the eastern region of the Afghan capital Kabul today (March 29). He added that the tremor was felt at 5 o’clock:49 o’clock.
“A magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred today 85 km east of the capital Kabul, Afghanistan at 5 o’clock: 49h IST,” NCS wrote on Twitter.
The incident comes just two days after a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck 25 kilometres south of Farkhar district, Takhar province of Afghanistan on Monday, March 27. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake struck at 4 a.m.:53:29 (UTC+05: 30) at a depth of 124.1 km.
It should be mentioned here that the northern and northeastern regions of the country are prone to disasters such as avalanches, landslides, earthquakes and floods.
Several homes have been destroyed as a result of the disaster in Afghanistan, where the crisis is occurring, and severe human and financial losses have been reported since the Taliban took over in 2021.
