Torkham / Pakistan. : A landslide occurred near the border town of Torkham in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least two Afghan civilians. Eight have been injured in this landslide, while 20 trucks have been reported buried.


The landslide occurred after a strong thunderstorm on Tuesday near Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Khyber Pass near the Afghanistan border. Rescue officials told that two Afghan civilians have died in this landslide and still the rescue work is going on by the officials.


Khyber District Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan said- "Two Afghan civilians were killed in the landslide, rescue officials are trying to retrieve the bodies of both. At least eight people were injured in this landslide, they are being provided first aid." Used to be."

Other officials said the debris of the landslide is widespread and our rescue operation is on with heavy machinery. The landslide site is part of the main road connecting Pakistan with land-locked Afghanistan. It is an important area of trade between South Asian countries and Central Asia. During the landslide, the drivers were cooking food for Sehri on a chulha, due to which a fire broke out there. At present the fire has been brought under control.
