Upgradation of sports complex facilities; Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil in Legislative Council

Akluj, Solapur district has a great tradition of various sports. Many athletes have shone at the state and national level, but keeping in mind that the maintenance and repair of the indoor stadium and ground in the Solapur District Sports Complex, which is important for the athletes to get proper facilities, MLA Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil in the Legislative Council Hall for renovation and updation of the available facilities in the complex as soon as possible.

Responding to Mohite-Patil's demand, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode said, A land of 16 acres is available for the District Sports Complex Solapur, and by approving the budget of Rs. 8.78 CR 

The complex has an open auditorium, 400 m. Runway, Swimming Pool, Badminton Hall, Lawn Tennis, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho Kho Grounds, Hostels, Commercial Areas, Yoga Hall, Sports Equipment, Office Building, Water, Drainage and Electrical System, Entrance and Protective Wall facilities have been completed. And sports facilities are being used by players. Security guards have been arranged at this place and the changing room in the hostel of the complex is being used for the women players, he said.

Poor condition of the complex due to lack of funds
The skating track, shot put, long jump track in the district sports complex have been destroyed. The tiles in the indoor stadium area are cracked and there is no changing room for women players and the complex is in disrepair due to lack of funds and the players are not able to take advantage of the facilities. MLA Mohite-Patil demanded the government to take immediate action in terms of repair, maintenance and cleanliness of the district sports complex.

Incremental grant of Rs.25 crores
The government has increased the subsidy limit of the district sports complexes in the state, increasing the subsidy limit of Rs. 15 crores and the district complexes will get an additional subsidy of Rs. 25 crores. Minister Bansode said that various sports facilities including changing rooms in the complex will be renovated and updated.
