PMPML travel will become expensive from tomorrow; what will be the new fare?

Pune: 30 PMP travel will cost passengers on Sunday (Thursday 1). The Pune Regional Transport Committee (RTA) has approved the fare hike proposal sent by the PMP administration. The fare hike will be effective from June 1. After 11 years, the fare of PMP tickets has been increased. Passengers have expressed their displeasure as the current ticket fare has been doubled.

PMP buses operate in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and PMRDA areas. PMP travels on the relevant routes from 1 to 80 kilometers. PMPA has decided 11 stages for the 80 kilometer journey. The fare has been increased according to that stage. This rate will be effective from Sunday morning. PMP has also increased the fare of the pass along with the ticket. The PMP administration had earlier implemented the fare hike in 2014.

New fare structure

– Minimum ticket fare has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 10.
– Combined daily pass for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities has been increased from Rs 40 to Rs 70.
– Monthly pass has been increased from Rs 900 to Rs 1500.
– Daily pass for PMRDA area has been increased from Rs 120 to Rs 150.
– There is no change in concessional passes for students, senior citizens and disabled passengers.
– Also, if the pass is valid till the next date after June 1, the new fare will not be applicable to them till the validity of the pass is up to that date.

Three new bus routes launched in Pune

In response to the increasing demand of passengers, the Pune Metropolitan Transport Corporation (PMPML) has launched three new bus routes and expanded an existing bus route. With this decision, citizens travelling to various parts of the city will get more convenient, regular and easily accessible public transport services.

Information about the new bus routes is as follows:
Bus route number 79 – Hinjewadi (Maan) Phase 3 to Deccan Gymkhana, The bus on this route will start from Hinjewadi Phase 3 and will run via Infosys Phase 2, Shivaji Chowk, Wakad Bridge, Sutarwadi, Bavdhan, Chandni Chowk, Kothrud Depot, Vanaz Company, S.N.D.T. College to Deccan Gymkhana.

Number of buses: 2
Frequency: Every 1 hour and 40 minutes

1,000 new buses to be added to PMPML fleet in Pune
1,000 new buses will soon be added to the fleet of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML). This decision was taken in the board meeting held on Tuesday (13). Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will provide funds for the purchase of 500 buses under this scheme.
