Fadnavis said that he will request his superiors to release him from the post of Deputy Chief Minister to do party work. The BJP-led grand alliance, which is talking about getting more than 45 seats in the state, has suffered a major blow in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP-Sena-NCP(AP) got only 17 seats. In the last election, the BJP, which elected 23 MPs, fell to 9 seats. In this background, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his desire to directly leave the post of Deputy Chief Minister and work full-time for the party organization in a press conference held on Wednesday .Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that I want to come out for the assembly, I will request the leadership to release me from the government. Bawankule said, we are all responsible!

State president of BJP Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, he alone is not responsible for BJP's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. So we are all responsible. But there is no need for them to leave the government. Bawankule informed that the core committee of the BJP has requested Fadnavis to stay in the government and guide us for party organization.
