Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil has announced a massive march to the Maharashtra Mantralaya on August 29, demanding the implementation of two key demands: blanket reservation for the Maratha community under the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category and the enforcement of the ordinance regarding kinship (sagesoyare) benefits.
Addressing a "Chavdi Sabha" (community gathering) in Dharsur village of Gangakhed taluka, Jarange urged community members to gather in Mumbai for two days and promised, "On the third day, we will celebrate victory with colors of triumph." He expressed confidence that the rally will see participation from three to four crore Marathas.
The march will begin on August 27 from Antarwali Sarati, moving through Paithan, Shevgaon, Ahilyanagar, Alephata, Malshej Ghat, Kalyan, Vashi, and Chembur, before reaching Mantralaya in Mumbai.
To prepare for the march, Jarange Patil has been holding meetings across the Marathwada region. He believes that this movement will bring lakhs of Maratha protestors to the streets and lead to a historic show of strength at the state government’s doorstep.
