MahaRERA Crosses 50,000 Project in 8 years

According to a statement released on May 8, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has registered over 50,000 real estate projects since its establishment eight years ago. Maharashtra leads India in RERA registrations, far ahead of Tamil Nadu (27,609 projects) and Gujarat (15,322 projects).  

Key Highlights:
- Total projects registered in Maharashtra: 50,162 (as per MahaRERA data).  
- Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune account for half of these projects.  
- Maharashtra contributes 35% of all RERA-registered projects in India (national total: 1,44,617).  

Region-wise Distribution: 
- Konkan (including Mumbai): 23,770 projects  
- Pune region: 15,932 projects  
- North Maharashtra: 4,621 projects  
- Nagpur:2,764 projects  
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad): 1,886 projects  
- Amravati: 957 projects  

MahaRERA also oversees Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli, where 230+ projects are registered.  

Project Completion & Complaints 
- 17,000+ projects completed (actual numbers may be higher as some builders haven’t updated status).  
- 28,000+ complaints received, with 21,000 resolved and 1,235 settled via mediation.
