Monsoon arrives in Kerala, India Meteorological Department Issues Red Alert!
The India Meteorological Department has informed that the monsoon has arrived in Kerala. This year, the monsoon arrived in Kerala a week early, so it is expected that the monsoon will also arrive in Maharashtra a week early.
According to the information given by the India Meteorological Department, this year the monsoon has arrived in Kerala the earliest in the last 16 years. On the other hand, due to the low pressure area and the progress of the monsoon system, many parts of Kerala have received heavy rains in the last two days. Earlier, the monsoon had arrived early in Kerala in 2001 and 2009. The normal date of the arrival of the monsoon in Kerala is June 1, the latest arrival of the monsoon in the last 25 years was in 2016, when the monsoon arrived in Kerala on June 09.
The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for Mumbai and Konkan today. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in this area in the next 48 hours. According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, due to the intensity of the low area in the Arabian Sea, the pre-monsoon winds are blowing in the state, and therefore many parts of the state are currently receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall.
On the other hand, as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Pune, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Raigad today, the Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for these districts. Meanwhile, as stormy rains are expected in Nanded, Yavatmal and Buldhana districts today, the Meteorological Department has also issued an Orange Alert for these districts.
