Indian Navy task force to be deployed in South China Sea

New Delhi / Correspondent

A special task force of the Indian Navy will be deployed in the South China Sea this month, the Navy said. This task force will be deployed at that place for 2 months. During this period, war drill is also being conducted with allied navies. This makes it clear that India has a special role to play in curbing China's expansionist stance.

The Indian Navy's task force will consist of four warships equipped with anti-missile systems and a ship with a missile launcher. The force will be based in Southeast Asia, the South China Sea and the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. The mission aims to maintain maritime security, co-ordinate with allied navies and maintain peace in the maritime region, the statement said.

The role of the Indian Defense Forces has always been cautious about China. However, this precaution has been heightened after a skirmish between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley in Ladakh last year. During this period, the strategic relationship between India and the United States has been strengthened with the same objective of responding to China's bigotry.

For some time now, China has been asserting its claim to the rich Pacific Ocean, which has been opposed by the United States. The geopolitical importance of the South China Sea has increased in these developments. All concerned countries have high expectations from India to control China in this area. The naval operation, which begins this month, also includes the annual joint naval exercises of the United States, Japan, Australia and India.
