International travel should be facilitated: Modi's appeal

New Delhi / Correspondent

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to all countries to facilitate international travel by recognizing each other's vaccination certificates in order to get out of the economic woes caused by the global corona crisis.

Modi addressed an international conference organized online to review the global situation caused by 'Kovid 19'. India has increased vaccine production to meet the vaccine requirements of other countries. However, he also pointed out the need to keep the supply chain of raw materials intact for faster vaccine production.

India has always seen the whole world as one family. In the Corona crisis, the Indian medical manufacturing industry has produced a large number of diagnostic and treatment equipment, medicines, PPE kits. This has created a lucrative option, especially for developing countries, Modi claimed. India has launched the world's largest vaccination campaign, setting a record of 2.5 crore vaccines a day. So far, 800 million people in India have been given a single dose of the corona vaccine, while 200 million people have been fully vaccinated.

Noting that India had provided vaccines to 95 countries and UN peacekeepers earlier this year, Modi thanked the world for standing firm behind India during the second wave of the Corona. Vaccine productivity in India will increase as new vaccines are developed. Therefore, it will be possible to supply large quantities of vaccines to other countries, Modi said.
