Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil's Big Announcement

Pune: Amidst discussions about the state's financial constraints, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil made a significant announcement. He stated that the state has approved the recruitment of 5,500 professors and 2,900 employees.
Patil was speaking at the Developed Maharashtra 2047 Awareness Workshop organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shikshan Mahasangh, Higher Education Department Maharashtra Region, and Progressive Education Society. He emphasized that the state should not compromise on achieving the goal of Developed Maharashtra 2047.
2029 Target for Universities
Patil mentioned that 2029 will be the first phase in addressing human resource issues. To achieve this, all universities in the state need to improve their standards. He also noted that Savitribai Phule Pune University has improved its global ranking.
Expectation to Rank Among Top 500 Universities
Patil expressed his expectation that within the next five years, the state's universities should aim to rank among the top 500 universities globally. This expectation applies to all universities in the state, he added.
