Vintage and Classic Cars, Motorcycles and Scooters Rally have been grandly organized in Pune on Sunday 9th April at 9.00 am from Turf Club at Race Course. The 15 km rally will go through Golibar Maidan – Saras Baug – Dandekar Pul – Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg – Garware Bridge – Agriculture College Flyover – Juna Bazar Road – Zila Parishad – Hollywood Gurudwara Road and will end at Turf Club. Additional Commissioner of Police and Ex. Commissioner of Police from Pune will be the chief guest. Chairman of Vintage and Classic Car Club of India Nitin Dosa (Mumbai), Subhash Sanas of Subhash.B.Sanas Vintage and Classic Car Museum, members of VCCI and owners of vintage and classic cars will be present. A prestige cup has been instituted in the memory of Late Baburao Sanas, Pune's first mayor, and will be awarded to the best vintage car.
There are 125 entries in the rally wherein it will feature 70 to 80 very valuable vintage and classic cars and around 30 to 40 vintage scooters and motorcycles. This rally will showcase vintage and classical cars of Bollywood and Hollywood stars, along with vintage and classical cars owned by Subhash Sanas like Dodge Kingsway used by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and family, Convertible Impala used by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Mercedes Benz by Hollywood star Al Pacino, White Mercedes by Amitabh Bachchan, 2 door silver color Mercedes by Vinod Khanna and other celebrities, as well as 'Bobby' fame Rajdoot motorcycle among others. Austin 7 will be driven by India's oldest rally driver, Dr. Prabha Nene from Pune during the rally. The vintage and classic cars includes Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes Benz, Chevrolet, Morris Convertible, Austin, Ford and other foreign cars.
