How can blame change history? - Abhay Chajed

On

A good example of how irresponsible ahistorical statements are made with deep ignorance of history is Union Home Minister Amit Shah's statement regarding Kashmir and Pandit Nehru. According to him, if Nehru had not imposed a ceasefire before occupying the entire Kashmir, the territory occupied by Pakistan would have remained with India. While accusing Pandit Nehru of making a mistake while making this criticism, ignoring the blunders of the then founder of Jammu and Kashmir, Hari Singh, he has implemented the agenda of making Nehru responsible for everything.

Harisingh unnecessarily delayed joining India. Mahatma Gandhi personally went to Kashmir and tried to persuade the Harisinghs, but the Harisinghs also did not listen to him because they wanted to remain as an independent nation. It was a Sarvesarva of the Hindu Mahasabha who instigated them like that. Taking advantage of Harisingh's delay in decision-making, Pakistani militants invaded Kashmir, but Kote Harisingh woke up and sought military assistance from Pandit Nehru. Gandhiji also allowed this military assistance. However, Harisingh did not give up his insistence while joining and it was his insistence that Article 370 was created.

Indian forces managed to drive the Pakistani-backed militants out of the valley, but UNO (not Nehru) declared a ceasefire, leaving the area under Pakistani control to this day. The nascent nation had to merge the 550 institutions of the country and build a nation by fighting on many fronts. Yet Pandit Nehru started repealing the provisions of Article 370 one by one after the Constitution of the country came into force (1950) and it was finally left in name.

Everyone should remember that if Hari Singh had decided to join India earlier, this question would not have arisen. But Amit Shah, who only knows how to stifle national love by canceling this clause, instead of blaming Hari Singh's decision to join India in the opposite situation of Pakistan invasion and the short-sightedness of taking a late step, instead of blaming Pandit Nehru, who built the country strong, how much Nehru hatred is in the minds of some people. It is to give a false impression that it is full. Had Amit Shah studied history and the then national and global situation even a little, he would not have made such irresponsible statements.
