Anand Shekhar Lauds CYDA's Initiative To Take Water And Sanitation Dimensions To Society

Anand Shekhar, Additional Mission Director,  NITI Aayog, said, "The cooperation and initiatives taken by ngOs to the government in taking the dimensions of water and sanitation to all levels of the society are commendable and with this social cooperation, drinking water system will be implemented well in the future as  well.  CYDA was speaking at a "WASH Summit" event organised to mark the institute's 25th silver jubilee anniversary. 

For the last 25 years, CYDA has been working in the fields of  youth development, livelihood, skill development, arts and culture, education, rural development, water, health, sanitation, etc.  It's here.

Niti Aayog Campaign Director K.K. Sharma was the chief guest  at the 'Water, Health, Sanitation-Wash' summit  held  at Annabhau Sathe Cultural Hall, Yashwantnagar, Yerawada,  Pune. Anand Shekhar, Chief Executive, WaterAid India, V.K. Madhavan, Wash Specialist, Mahesh Mishra were present. 

Speaking on the occasion, Anand Shekhar said that despite special efforts made in the last few years, if some sections of the society are still deprived of toilets and water system, they can apply to the local administration to avail the benefit of this system or directly contact the Ministry of Jal Shakti through the website.

Speaking on the challenges in the areas of water, health and sanitation, V.K. Madhavan, CHIEF Executive Officer, WaterAid India , highlighted the challenges that come with achieving goals in social structure, as well as questions about continuity, behavioural change and sustainability in the society, and advising measures to be taken up by the community, organisations and local participation.

Concluding the first session of the WASH Summit, WASH subject matter expert Mahesh Mishra, while touching on a very important issue, expressed concern over the natural resources being destroyed by climate change and called for enhancing these resources and exploring new generating resources and making special efforts for this. 

Various sessions of the summit discussed "WASH sustainability, new technologies in Wash, and cutting-edge innovations and innovations in WASH." The session was chaired by Wash Subject Matter Expert Mahesh Mishra, Executive Director, Plan India, Mohammed Asif,  Programme Director, Save the Children, Sanjay Sharma as mentors  and the summit focused on "Wash Sustainability, New Technologies in Wash and Cutting Edge Innovations and Innovations in Wash". The subject matter expert is director of the Ecoson Service Foundation. Dayanand Panse Atlas Copco India Ltd, Abhijit Patil CSR  Manager Wash Mitra Chhattisgarh, Radha Dhiwar Wash Officer UNICEF; Anand Ghodke IIT Bombay, Gaurav Kapse, Saurabh Pandya of Sato, Abhishek Chaudhry, Executive Manager, Finnish, Sehgal Foundation, Lalit Sharma, Karan Shaiva of Mahapeconet, Yusuf Kabir, Programme Specialist, World Climate Initiative UNICEF and Jyotsna Bahrat, COO, YouthAid Foundation were present. 

For the success of the program,  M, N, Sanyal, Nitesh Singrul, Shahaji Gadhire and Priya Kothari as well as the activists of the organization worked hard.
