Congress becomes active in the South amidst the breaking alliance in Bihar

The political developments in Bihar have also created problems for the India alliance. The speculation about the main face of the opposition alliance, Nitish Kumar, joining the NDA has marginalized the India alliance. A round of tussle has started among the member parties of India Alliance regarding seat sharing. In Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav said that he is giving 11 seats to Congress. However, Congress said that this has not been decided yet. Congress may list 21 preferred constituencies to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Meanwhile, the first round of discussion on seat sharing between DMK and Congress will be held today at the DMK headquarters in Chennai on Saturday. During this, Congress leader Mukul Wasnik will discuss with state leaders. Later, Congress leader Mukul Wasnik will meet the DMK seat sharing committee at Anna Arivalayam.

It is noteworthy that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also started showing reluctance regarding seat sharing with Congress in the state. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that Aam Aadmi Party will contest the elections alone in the state.
