Tamil Nadu: Talks held between BJP and PMK on alliance for Lok Sabha elections, seat sharing agreement signed

Tamil Nadu Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) announced its alliance with the BJP for the Lok Sabha elections. A day after this announcement, Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai held a meeting with PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss regarding seat sharing. Both the leaders also signed the seat sharing agreement in Thailapuram.

PMK leaders will attend PM Modi's public meeting
After the seat distribution, PMK leaders are now expected to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting in Salem. Let us tell you that PMK had decided on Monday to form an alliance with BJP for the Lok Sabha elections. The party's general secretary said the names of the candidates will be announced by PMK founder Ramdas on Wednesday. BJP is without any alliance in Tamil Nadu. Before the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi has also visited Tamil Nadu five times.

The Election Commission had announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. The results will be declared on June 4. PM Modi has set a target of winning more than 400 seats for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections and more than 370 seats for the BJP alone.
