PM Care package for 41 children who lost their parents in Corona

Solapur : There are 41 children whose parents have died in both the waves of Covid pandemic. The Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi on Monday, May 30, interacted with the orphans who have lost both their parents due to Covid19 through a video conference.

A video conference was arranged in the multi-purpose hall at the Solapur Collectorate, Collector Milind Shambharkar, Upper Collector Sanjeev Jadhav, Women and Child Development Officer Khomene, Zilla Parishad Women and Child Welfare Program Officer Javed Sheikh were present.

The package kits to be given on behalf of PM Care Child Yojana were given to the children by Collector Shambharkar. The kit includes postal passbook 10 lakhs in the name of children in that account, insurance cover of 5 lakhs from Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, letter mentioning the name of the beneficiary and the amount of 10 lakhs to be received after completing 23 years of age. 

During the interaction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, children below 10 years of age will be admitted as day scholars in the nearest Kendriya Vidyalaya or private school. Cost of dress, textbooks and notebooks will be paid by PM Care. Children between 11 to 18 years of age will be admitted to any residential school like Central Government Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya etc.

At the age of 18, the child will get a monthly scholarship and at the age of 23, a fund of Rs 10 lakh. Children will be helped to get loans for their higher education and PM Cares will pay the loan interest. Under Ayushman Bharat, children up to the age of 18 will be given free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh and the premium will be paid by PM Care.
