Leader of Opposition in Loksabha Rahul Gandhi again on Manipur tour

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is on a visit to Manipur today. Some unidentified assailants opened fire in Gulerthal area of Jiribam district of the state early today. Rahul Gandhi visited relief camps in Jiribam and met people affected by communal violence.

According to an official about the firing, the gunmen fired several times at Meitei area of Gularthal around 3.30 am. After this the security forces responded. Meanwhile, the firing continued till seven o'clock in the morning. As a precaution, security personnel have been deployed in the surrounding area. A bulletproof vehicle of the state police also caught fire this time.
