Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh emphasized the importance of giving due respect and recognition to the mother tongues of individual states. He stated, "Primary education must be conducted in the state's mother tongue. While we accept Hindi as the national language, equal importance must be given to regional languages."

Singh, who has been visiting Pandharpur for the Ashadhi Ekadashi pilgrimage for the past 33 years, offered prayers at the Tulja Bhavani temple in Tuljapur before heading towards Pandharpur. He spoke to the media following his visit.

He further added, "Vitthal is the deity of the country’s laborers, farmers, and working-class people. The discipline observed by the lakhs of devotees who participate in the Wari is truly remarkable. This devotion and discipline reflect the true spiritual strength of the Vitthal pilgrimage."
