June 24, 2025: In a major push for modern farming, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that farmers will soon get tractors running on CNG, diesel, and electricity. Speaking at International Sustainable Tunnel workshop, he said these tractors will help farmers save money and protect the environment.
Gadkari’s Personal Push for Green Farming
- "I use a CNG tractor on my own farm," Gadkari revealed, urging farmers to try new technologies.
- He also supports hydrogen and ethanol fuels, saying, "We must act fast—progress can’t wait."
India’s Tunnel Mission: Make Machines Locally
- Gadkari highlighted plans to build tunnels worth ₹3 lakh crore but pointed out a problem: "Tunnel machines come only from China, and buying them is costly."
- His solution? "India must build its own machines using AI and solar power."
Big Boost for Bridges & Roads
- A ₹40,000 crore bridge project is in the works. Gadkari said, "Importing machines is expensive. Let’s make them here to save money and create jobs."
- Farmers could benefit too—cheaper tech means higher profits.
Gadkari’s Message: "Go Local, Go Green"
- Whether farming or building tunnels, Gadkari believes India must rely on its own tech and clean fuels like ethanol.
- "This is how we’ll build a strong, self-reliant India," he said.
Why It Matters:
- Farmers get budget-friendly, eco-conscious tractors.
- Less dependence on China for heavy machinery.
- More jobs and growth with local manufacturing.
Gadkari’s plan could change the future of farming and infrastructure—making India greener and more independent!
