Pune Police Crack Down on Drug Trafficking in Kondhwa

Pune : In a significant operation, the Anti-Narcotics Cell and Southern Command Military Intelligence, Pune Unit, seized mephedrone and hydroponic ganja worth ₹8.58 lakh in Kondhwa. Two suspects, Abhinav Pradip Gupta (22) and Irshad Iftikhar Shaikh (27), were arrested while allegedly peddling drugs from a car.

Seized Items:

- Mephedrone: 10 grams valued at ₹2.04 lakh
- Hydroponic Ganja: 8 grams valued at ₹82,800
- Other Items: A car worth ₹5 lakh, two mobile phones, an electric weighing scale, and packaging materials

Arrests and Investigation:

The accused have been identified as Abhinav Pradip Gupta, a resident of Shivne, and Irshad Iftikhar Shaikh, a resident of Kondhwa. Both have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the Kondhwa police station. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, DCP Nikhil Pingale, and ACP Rajendra Mulik ¹
