'Modi government kills democracy;' Opponents staged a foot march

New Delhi / Correspondent

The Prime Minister of India has sold this country. They have killed democracy by not allowing the opposition to speak in Parliament. In protest, we have taken out a morcha outside Parliament and come to the media to express our views, said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

The picture of the opposition reuniting to protest against the Modi government was seen in this march. Along with Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Jha, leaders of 15 Opposition parties, including Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut, joined the Opposition.

We demanded in Parliament to discuss the issue of surveillance by Pegasus. However, the government did not accept it. Outside Parliament, we talk about farmers' issues. We are not allowed to speak in Parliament. So it is our turn to come out of Parliament to speak to the media. This is a murder of democracy, Gandhi alleged.

MP beaten for first time in Rajya Sabha

Outsiders were called to the Rajya Sabha and dressed them in blue uniform. MPs were beaten by them. This is the first time this has happened in the Rajya Sabha, Gandhi alleged. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set out to sell India to a select few industrialists. Therefore, we could not defend the farmers and the unemployed in Parliament. We were not allowed to speak on the insurance and Pegasus issues, he said.

Meanwhile, during the rainy session of Parliament, there was a huge uproar in the Rajya Sabha from members of the Opposition. Several members stood at the table and waved the sheets in their hands. Many went to the Speaker's chair and shouted slogans.
