Union AYUSH Minister Prataprao Jadhav has come out in strong support of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, stating that "Gujarat is not Pakistan; it's our neighboring state."

Jadhav emphasized that there's no need to politicize the 'Jai Gujarat' slogan, recalling that Maharashtra and Gujarat were once part of the unified Mumbai Province, with Mumbai serving as their shared capital.

Jadhav made these remarks to media representatives after offering prayers at the Tuljabhavani temple, Maharashtra's revered deity.

"Gujarat is not in Pakistan. It is our neighboring state," Jadhav reiterated. "Since childhood, we have pledged, 'India is my country, all Indians are my brothers and sisters.' Therefore, it is inappropriate to politicize the 'Jai Gujarat' slogan."

The controversy arose after Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde chanted "Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra," along with "Jai Gujarat" at an event in Pune, attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This act has drawn significant criticism from opposition parties.
