Air India Flight: 7 more flights cancelled today, what exactly is happening with Air India after the Ahmedabad accident?
Air India's situation has worsened following the Ahmedabad plane crash. Flights are getting cancelled continuously. 7 flights have been cancelled today, June 17.
Air India has cancelled the following international flights:
AI915 – Delhi to Dubai – B788 Dreamliner
AI153 – Delhi to Vienna – B788 Dreamliner
AI143 – Delhi to Paris – B788 Dreamliner
AI159 – Ahmedabad to London – B788 Dreamliner
AI170 – London to Amritsar – B788 Dreamliner
AI133 – Bengaluru to London – B788 Dreamliner
AI179 – Mumbai to San Francisco – B777
Air India flight AI159 from Ahmedabad to London’s Gatwick Airport was cancelled due to the unavailability of an aircraft. The flight was scheduled to take off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 3 pm. The company said: the aircraft was not available due to airspace restrictions and additional precautionary checks.
At the same time, Delhi to Paris flight AI143 was cancelled due to a technical snag. Flight AI170 from London (Gatwick) to Amritsar has been cancelled. The company said that Iran has closed its airspace due to the war with Israel, which is affecting flights to Europe. Apart from this, many other flights have also been cancelled. Almost all of them have the same reason.
Apology from Air India
The company said that they are sorry for the inconvenience caused to their passengers, and they have made alternative arrangements to reach their destination. We are arranging hotel accommodation and have offered a full refund or rescheduling in case of cancellation of the journey. The company also said that it is making alternative arrangements to take passengers to their destination as soon as possible.
