Fadnavis thanked Raj Thackeray for crediting him with bringing the Thackeray brothers together!
Mumbai, 5th July 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, without naming him, criticized Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray Faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray, stating that the 'Marathi Vijay Melava' (Marathi Victory Rally) became a platform for lamenting the loss of power, with not a single word spoken about Marathi. Fadnavis also thanked Raj Thackeray for crediting him with bringing the Thackeray brothers together.
The event held at Worli dome was publicized as a 'Marathi Vijay Melava'. However, Chief Minister Fadnavis criticized Uddhav Thackeray, saying that instead of speaking about Marathi, it turned into a 'rudali' (lamentation) about the loss of their power. He made no statement regarding Raj Thackeray.
Fadnavis asserted that the Shiv Sena held power in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation for a long 25 years, but no development occurred during their tenure. On the contrary, Marathi people moved out of Mumbai. He claimed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they have transformed Mumbai's face. He cited examples like the BDD Chawl and Patra Chawl redevelopments, where they provided good, spacious homes to citizens. Therefore, Fadnavis declared that both Marathi and non-Marathi people in Mumbai firmly support them today.
Fadnavis also expressed the sentiment, "We are Marathi. We are rightfully proud to be Marathi. Similarly, it is essential to remember that we are Hindus."
