Demand for reforms in the United Nations Security Council
Kamboj said the Security Council was formed in a different era and does not reflect the rise of new forces. Today, when the geopolitical landscape is changing, countries want a more equal and fair global order. Kamboj said that today unprecedented global challenges are in front of the world, in such a situation there is a need for reforms in the United Nations. Due to climate change, terrorism, disaster and humanitarian crisis, there is a need to take united and responsible steps. Kamboj appealed to all countries to make efforts for reforms in the United Nations Security Council.
'Some countries are managing the current world'
Sameer Saran, president of India's top think tank Observer Research Foundation, said that in today's multi-polar world, it cannot be supported that some countries that won the war of the last century continue to manage the world. He said that war is a matter of history and similarly the influence and capabilities of some countries have also become a thing of the past. The current structure of the Security Council is unethical. Saran said that the burden of the war was borne by the colonial countries and its benefits went to the colonizing countries.
Explain that there are five permanent members in the United Nations Security Council. These include America, France, China, Russia and Britain. Other countries are temporary members in the council of 15 countries and they keep changing.
